Life, web, and caffeine. By Pat Collins.
I’ve underestimated how easy it is to blog your thoughts and ideas. I think I’ve become so lost in the world of database queries and CSS hacks that my desire to write has diminished. A shame! This is marvelous.
I recently purchased Vonage for my new apartment.
But I haven’t shared with the blogging community my apartment news as of yet! The move-in will be June 1, followed by installation of many necessary things to live, such as a bed, TV, Internet (going with a cable modem, methinks), telephone (what this paragraph started with…) and food. Haha, food is important too. Such is my obsession with gadgets. (read: Gadgets)
On with the Vonage, already…
VoIP is blowing my mind. I signed up for a Pittsburgh number, and hooked up to DSL here at home (read: CT), when I call the 412 number it rings. Voicemail reminders come via e-mail. You can forward your calls to your cell phone.
Best of all, I can unplug it without much guilt. There is a certain guilt associated with disconnecting your phone line so people can’t call you. Traditionally, that means they can’t reach your answering machine. Here, voicemail does the trick. Brilliant.
