Life, web, and caffeine. By Pat Collins.
I saw and put a deposit down for a new apartment today. It is certainly nicer than The Death Trap I currently live in. (More on that later.) My appointment got double-booked, so I toured a few apartments with an Asian woman that was looking for an apartment for her daughter. Would you let your mother get an apartment for you? I thought not.
While she asked silly questions I already knew the answers to (thankfully the management company has a great web site), I had a few extra moments in which I could see myself living there. While the other woman took the attention and pressure off me, I had the chance to check out the place more, instead of being stared at for an opinion. I’m confident these were the extra few minutes that ultimately led to my decision to get it.
My advice for the fine folks that show apartments for rent? Back off a little; you may get a sale.
